We all love advent calendars, and they are even nicer when they work the other way round.
Instead of receiving gifts in the run-up to Santa’s visit, our teams spent the month of November bringing in tasty treats, gifts and decorations to put in a festive hamper for people staying at St Michael’s Hospice over Christmas.
Reverse advent calendars are a great charitable alternative to the typical festive calendar, where you receive something every day up to the 25th December. Instead, for each day of November you collect items that can be gifted to a charity or food bank in the run up to Christmas. After gathering helpful gifts all month, you can take everything you’ve saved to help those in need.
DF Legal Managing Partner Jo May and Marketing Co-ordinator Kate Allen (pictured with Paddy Nugent from St Michael’s Hospice) popped over to the centre in Hereford last week to hand over the yule-tide hamper.
Kate said, ‘Many of our staff and clients have benefited from the care provided by St Michael’s and because they are our charity of the year we wanted to send good-will to families living with a terminal illness.’
We all wish the team, patients and their families a bright Christmas full of love and laughter!
